Cosmic Baby and the Mystery of Fast Radio Bursts - Medwin Publishers

Cosmic Baby and the Mystery of Fast Radio Bursts:  With the discovery of “Pulsar” a new probe of short duration radio pulses arises to the astronomers. Searching the “tomography” of the galaxy using the short-pulses offered a new method to measure the fairly accurate distance to the new sources of pulse radiation i.e. Pulsars. Another pulse radiative object i.e. fast radio burst (FRB) remains a mysterious object till today. Analysis of observed data indicates that FRBs have multi-source origin, variation in location of the burst generation (i.e. radial distance from their central compact objects, the Magnetar’s surface) depending on model to model. Two most important puzzle creating facts of FRBs are: (a) microstructure appearance in FRBs on time-scale of ≤ 10 μs; (b) No FRBs observed at low latitudes. Recoding of observed parameters from Cosmic Baby, i.e. Swift J1818.0 – 1607, shows that it has a steep spectra at first and then flat spectra later which indicates possibly be a tran...

Preliminary Study for Gatekeepers Self-Efficacy Scale among Resident Assistants (GSS- RA)

Preliminary Study for Gatekeepers Self-Efficacy Scale among Resident Assistants (GSS- RA): As the importance of promoting college student mental health increases and campuses work to prevent suicide, resident assistants (RAs) are called upon to serve as gatekeepers to facilitate professional help as a part of suicide prevention initiatives on campuses. However, assessing the efficacy of suicide prevention training is lacking. This study develops and validates the Gatekeepers Self-Efficacy Scale among resident assistants (RAs) based on the Question, Persuade, Response suicide prevention model. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Parallel Analysis, and Multidimensional Graded Response model (MGRM) were used with 302 RAs sample. Two factors were found, (1) Communicating about Crisis and (2) Knowledge of Resources, with appropriate item fit and parameter estimates. The response patterns of the two factors and their correlations with objective suicide prevention knowledge were estimated and ...

Development of an Antihypertensive Loaded Solid Lipid Nanoparticle

Solid lipid nanoparticles were prepared by using the solvent evaporation method. The prepared solid lipid nanoparticles of felodipine from different batches were weighed accurately and filled into appropriate-sized capsules for further evaluation. The prepared nanoformulation was tested in vitro for drug entrapment efficiency found to be 97-99% for the formulation with soya lecithin and glyceryl mono-stearate and percentage yield. The results of the in vitro drug release study for all formulations performed at gastric pH 1.2 indicated that the drug was released in an immediate manner within 60 minutes, which could be due to a burst effect or a faster rate of drug release due to smaller particle size SLN13 the concentration of Glycerol Monosterate- 576.522mg and Poloxamer 188. In vitro release data from standardised nanoformulations was fitted to various release kinetics models for the drug release mechanism. The optimised formulation demonstrated improved drug release and entrapment ef...

Carbonate System Seasonal Behavior along a Southeastern Brazilian Estuarine-Lagoon Complex with Different Degrees of Anthropogenic Impacts on its Sectors

Carbonate System Seasonal Behavior along a Southeastern Brazilian Estuarine-Lagoon Complex with Different Degrees of Anthropogenic Impacts on its Sectors. Abstract This study aimed to understand the behavior of the carbonate system in the Cananéia-Iguape Estuarine-Lagoon Complexn (CIELC) to evaluate its potential as a source or sink for atmospheric CO2. This estuarine-lagoon complex is one of the most extensive in Brazil, more than 100 km long and covers protected and sparsely inhabited regions of the state of São Paulo. This system presents, in its southern portion, most preserved areas, and evident anthropogenic impact in the northern portion, where an artificial canal was created in the second half of the 19th century, with the aim of shortening the navigation path link the river to the estuarine system offering a passage to the sea, resulting in several modifications, both from a hydrodynamic and biogeochemical mechanisms. Sampling of salinity (S), temperature (T), total alkalinity...

On the Origin of the Moon and the Continents

On the Origin of the Moon and the Continents. Authors: Flavio Barbiero DOI: 10.23880/oaja-16000111 Volume 2, Issue 1 Abstract All astronomical bodies originate inside clouds of gas and dust, therefore there should be a common process that leads to their condensation. In a galactic cloud there is always a gradient of speeds from point to point. Thanks to it, vortices originate that rake the material of the surrounding cloud gradually forming large gaseous disks, inside which vortices of second order develop that concentrate the matter of their orbits forming smaller and much denser disks, within which third order vortices further concentrate the matter. The dense cores of these vortices finally condense in massive bodies: sun, planets and satellites. The result should be a well ordered planetary system with no “debris” around and where both planets and satellites obey to a precise rule of the distances from their central body. The solar system complies with these conditions with th...

Effect of Tragacanth Gum on Some Protective Mechanisms of Black Cumin (Nigella sativa L.) Under Drought Stress Conditions

Image
Effect of Tragacanth Gum on Some Protective Mechanisms of Black Cumin (Nigella sativa L.) Under Drought Stress Conditions :  Abstract The production of active oxygen species increases under drought stress conditions, which means that their removal or deactivation is out of plant power. Therefore, most plants in the face of drought stress require solutions adopted by farm managers. In order to investigate the effect of various irrigation regimes and anti-evapotranspiration effect of different concentrations of tragacanth gum on protective mechanisms of Nigella sativa L., a factorial experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with three replications in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Kurdistan in 2018. The experimental factors included irrigation at three levels of 100 (full irrigation), 70 (mild drought stress), and 40% (severe drought stress) of field capacity of soil and spraying with tragacanth gum at six concentrations of 0, 1.25, ...

International Collaborative Responses to Transnational Cybercrime: how China Strengthen its Capacity to Combat Transnational Cybercrime

International Collaborative Responses to Transnational Cybercrime: how China Strengthen its Capacity to Combat Transnational Cybercrime. Authors : Jiang N* and Bing S DOI : 10.23880/ijfsc-16000382 Journal Name : International Journal of Forensic Sciences (IJFSC) Abstract The borderless nature of the Internet has greatly facilitated the growth of crime in cyberspace. Cybercrime today has caused huge economic losses worldwide and is violating the right to privacy on a massive scale. The consequences of cybercrime are serious and often occur in different countries and regions. The priority of territorial jurisdiction has been affected by transnational cybercrime., and its convenient application has been lost when the results of the crime are generalized. The basis of subjective territoriality and objective territoriality would be unclear. The abstract cross-border nature of cybercrime has led to frequent conflicts of jurisdiction among States and may even lead to the legal hegemony of cy...

Importance of Indexing and Abstracting for a Research Article

Image
At Medwin Publishers, we believe in open access publishing. Which means sharing your research with the rest of the world for free, not locked away behind a paywall. But with so much research out there, how do you make sure people actually find your work? Here indexing and abstracting services come in, and work like superheroes for open access articles. Think of these services as giant online libraries, but instead of books, they store information about research articles. They carefully sort and summarize each article, tagging them with keywords that make them easy to find. So, when a researcher is looking for something specific to do a new research or review, they can search the database and find your work right away. Here's how indexing services supercharge your open access article: Get Seen by the Whole World: Traditionally, research was kind of hidden behind subscriptions walls, limiting who could read it. Indexing services open the door for everyone to see your work, no matter...
